America’s sexiest swine, Miss Piggy, is back on television this holiday season in “A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa,” in which she manages to upstage everyone from Kermit to Jane Krakowski to NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

To mark the occasion, Miss Piggy gave Metromix her two cents on the economic crisis, her favorite Christmas traditions and what she’d like to do with Brad Pitt...

It’s been a while since all of the Muppets did a television special. What made this the right time to come back and do something together?
Christmas is a wonderful time of year. It’s a time of giving. And I felt what better way for me to give this Christmas than to give the gift of moi in a Christmas special! So that is what I did. And if the world feels inclined to oh, repay the favor, I’m registered everywhere. Don’t hesitate. Just walk into any store. I’m probably registered there. You can get me something.

What are you getting Kermit for Christmas?
You know, these are times of very tight credit. But I was able to give Kermit a new credit card with unlimited credit so he can buy me as much as he wants for the holidays. I’m giving it to him early.

It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
Yes. Giving back. Back to moi.

Do you think that the economy has affected the pig population as much as it has affected the human population?
You know, I don’t really watch any television. I don’t read the news. It’s just all too depressing for moi. I just go about my merry way and everything is just fine.

You just continue looking fabulous and not worrying too much about it?
You know, you cannot worry. What does it do you? It does no good. It just puts wrinkles on your face.

Through the years your style has certainly evolved, but you have continued to look ageless.
Oh, it is true. I do keep reinventing myself. In fact, I do so, so much that I have the patent office on speed dial!

What are your beauty secrets?
Basically, you know, if a part gets old and falls off, just throw it away and get a new one. That’s what I do.

Are there any traditions that you celebrate every holiday season?
I like tradition and ritual. Kermie and I always get together and trim the tree on Christmas Eve. The best part about that is the peanut butter balls. Yeah, gosh, those are great! Those are delicious. We have to get new ones every year because they keep disappearing.

Any other special holiday plans?
Well, I’m going to be watching the special with Kermie. We’re going to tape it. We’re going to TiVo it. We’re going to DVR it. And I think we’re going to get a stenographer and have them write it all down as it’s happening. And then we’re going to enjoy all those different iterations again on Christmas Eve.

We’ve been talking a lot about Christmas, which means a new year is fast approaching. Are you a resolution-maker?
Usually, I make resolutions that I know I can stick to. I don’t think there’s any rule out there that says you can’t make resolutions like "eat a box of chocolates every day." I haven’t heard of a rule that says you can’t do that. Those are the sorts of resolutions I make: ones that I know that I will not break.

From “The Muppet Movie” to “Muppets Take Manhattan” to this special, “Letters to Santa,” you’ve proven yourself to be such a multi-talented pig. Would you ever consider doing a show like “Dancing with the Stars”?
What an interesting idea! It depends on the dance partner, quite frankly. So, you know... why not Brad Pitt?

"A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa" premieres Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 8 p.m./7c on NBC.
