SouziQ commented on OM Contemporary Indian Cuisine

If you could eat the decor, this place would be amazing. OM's good cocktails won't keep you happy when your stomach starts growling and eating their food won't make you much happier. Sad, but true. I agree with Katie about heading to Gandhi Mahal (or Nalapak) if you want better food.

I have been to Tiger Sushi numerous numerous times. RJ and his staff do wonderful things with seafood and other ingredients. The quality of their sushi and sashimi is the best I have had here. RJ makes some amazing dishes that are unusual - probably because he is from the Philippines and not Japan. They also have wonderful non-raw dishes for those who are sushi-phobic. The bar staff is also incredible. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is excellent. I highly recommend Tiger to anyone who loves sushi!

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to. I associate Kikugawa with special events with my family like birthdays. (We had supper here after my confirmation!) The food is tastes great, but on Friday and Saturday nights it sometimes take a while for the food to get to your table...but it's well worth it. If you're new to Japanese cuisine, just ask the wait staff. They're very knowledgeable and can help suggest menu items. If you ask me, get the Bento Box dinner. It has a nice variety and it all tastes delicious.

Market Bar B Que has the best flavor and authentic bar b que in the Twin Cities. I have been going there since I was a kid, and our entire family thinks it is the best around. Their ribs are outstanding, and their new smoke jumbo chicken wings are the best chicken wings I have ever tasted. If you haven't tried them yet, you must. You will not be dissapointed. They have an old time atmosphere, that can't be duplicated by the chain restaurants.

10/23/09 - I took my husband to Crave tonight for his birthday (around 5:30 PM). It wasn't very busy, but for some reason they tried to seat us at the table right next to the cooks when they had plenty of other tables available. They seated us at a table in the mall area that had a spotlight over our head. Way to bright. My husband ordered the Shrimp Scampi Al Fresco and I ordered the Fettucini with Roasted Mushrooms. The portions were very small for the price and my husband's had very little flavor. I ended up giving him half of my meal as he was already finished before I was half done due to his portion being so small. My Fettucini had so many large chunks of onion that I had to pick them out. It was suppose to have chicken in it, but I think they forgot to include it. Also, you have to pay for bread. Service was just okay. Kind of slow.

Had a bizzaro experience at Little SZ the other day. One part was my fault, one part was theirs and the final third was out of this world. First off, my fault: I've been watching a little too much Top Chef recently, and during the "Swine and Wine Challenge" (or whatever it was called) the chefs used pork belly. The judges raved! So, when I saw "pork belly with pickled veggies in a clay pot" I said - that's for me. Wrong. That's not at all for me. It's for someone else with a more developed authentic Szechuan pallet. Porky, fatty, oily, tangy broth. Woof (my bad for thinking I could hang.) We also ordered the dry fried green beans (which nearly EVERY table in the place ordered). These were amazing. Crispy, firm, charred, spicy - perfect. Except for the foot long hair we pulled out of them (their bad.) We kept eating. Lastly, we had the crispy shrimp in red chili oil. These were fantastic. All in all, I left with a queasy feeling. But looking back, I'm thinking of how delicious those shrimp were. What would you have done about the hair?

Visited OM with Katie Cannon on Monday in preparation for her review and thought I'd comment on a few things. First of all, the initial impression of this place is incredible. The ambiance, lounge, bar and dining area are uber classy and the chandelier/ staircase at the center of it all is GORG! The service was knowledgable and we actually ended up going with our server's recommendations (stay tuned for the review next week). To describe how OM's menu is different than other Indian restaurants in MN, our server used the term "neighborhood indian" refering to the likes of Ghandi Mahal and co. I found this interesting because, while I might not be culinarily trained, I enjoy the likes of these neighborhood spots more than my meal at OM. It looks to me like OM is the new 7 sushi - the place to see and be scene.

This supper club should be in downtown Minneapolis... the ambiance is that of Manny's or The Capital Grille. The food was amazing, I had the sea bass and it was light and buttery... absolutely fabulous. I HIGHLY recommend Jensen's for business dinners or dates.

TCfoodreview wrote about The Anchor Fish & Chips

Grubbed out at Anchor last night, Sunday. There was a 20-30min wait at about 8pm but it was bearable-the tables were turning. Tthe person in charge of the waitlist was pleasant, cognisant of the time factor, and helped matters by cleaning and resetting tables. The fish and chips were right on. What inclined me to write, however, is my response to whoever wrote the breif review for Anchor calling it British. Check your references-this is an Irish chipper not British.
