Rustica pizza
The Metromix team ventured out to lunch at the recently opened Woodfire Grill in St. Louis Park. Located off of 394 and Louisiana Boulevard, it can be easy to miss if you're not looking (it's nestled next to a gun shop and a car dealership).
The atmosphere: If you've ever been to a hotel lodge restaurant up North, the vibe here is pretty similar — minus the hotel. Taxidermy of various kinds decorate the walls and seating surrounds a large fireplace in the main room. It's very cozy and quiet. So quiet that we felt we needed to keep our chatter at a low volume. We could tell this was definietly a spot for nearby business folks to bring clients or have a productive lunch. We had to wonder what this place looks like during happy hour.
The food: Overall we were pleased. The salads were flavorful, the sandwiches were hearty and the pizza was light and fresh. While we weren't blown away by what we ordered, we can confidently say Woodfire Grill is a couple steps up from what you might find at the nearby Friday's or Olive Garden.
