If you’re looking for fancy lattes and cappuccinos, you’re looking in the wrong place. As it did when it originally opened in 1958, the Anoka Coffee Shop sticks to the basics—coffee, caffeinated or decaf only. The owner is a one-man show of sorts, waiting on customers, baking 15 types of cookies and cinnamon rolls, and cooking up simple, yet delicious, burgers, hot beef sandwiches and soups for lunch. Laid back and casual, the shop caters to everyone from senior citizens to mechanics on their lunch break to business people out for an afternoon coffee meeting.

Dirty, shoddy, stained tables and ripped up seats on chairs. Breakfast was ok, but get this! They charge and extra dollar if you pay with a credit ...
