A touch of color
La Chaya Bistro is the latest edition to the darling restaurants in Southwest Minneapolis.
Owned and operated by a family that lives blocks away, La Chaya is a perfect example of adapting Minnesota spaces and Minnesota palletes to the greater world. Chef Juan Juarez Garcia, along with his wife Summer Kapfmen and her parents, turned what used to be a KFC into a fresh neighborhood kitchen with local food, local landscaping and local art.
At La Chaya, Chef Garcia is taking the dishes of his native Mexcio, combined with his Mediterranean training, and serving them up with comfort and flair.
Simple and stunning tulips grace the table tops. When combined with the warm sun, it remind patrons of the patio seating to come in the summer. There will be a patio alongside the restaurant for 20 guests.
