Located in the middle of the U of M's Dinkytown neighborhood, coeds, beatniks, urbanites and suburbanites hang out at this whimsical cafe. Brick walls and stone archways lead the way to a two-story dining area that feels more like a sidewalk cafe. Strings of lights, dramatic candle lighting and even live trees put romance in the air. The live music and DJ's that serenade patrons for lunch and dinner set the backdrop for a truly theatrical experience (the owner's career began in the theater). For an appetizer, check out the Artichoke Ramekin, popular with the regulars. The eclectic menu offers many choices but, of course, pasta is the specialty at Loring Pasta Bar.
