Best Mussels in Minneapolis

I love Barbette and its kitsch. My favorite thing is their mussels. White wine, garlic, $5 at happy hour...how can you go wrong? I have eaten dinner here a few times and even though I liked my meals a lot, I've never been as impressed with anything as I am with these enormous, tender, flavorful mussels. That includes the service, which can be kind of slow and inattentive for how the size of the restaurant. This is so tacky and I can't believe I'm admitting this but I once asked for a to-go container for the butter, wine, garlic, herb sauce that was leftover from the mussels and made some delicious chicken and rice with it the next day.

Having just moved here from Chicago, Barbette was a gem to discover. The food is delicious and mostly organic and local. I have numerous food allergies and our server was kind and accommodating in working around them. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. Perfect for a date or place to meet friends.

I have heard the hype for years, but this place actually lives up tp it & then some. I think 112 Eatery has a rival! The same type of European comfort foods for foodies, where food is the event!!! I was beyond surprised, I was impressed! A must for everyones Foodie To Do List!!!
