A little piece of Havana in southeast Minneapolis: it's Victor's 1959 Café.
A quaint little Cuban restaurant serving traditional meals that ring true with genuine flavor and spice. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner six days a week, Victor's is a fantastic spot to chill with your amigos and order some delicious food. Try the empanadas with either chicken, beef, cheese or red pepper. Follow that up with a house favorite: ropa vieja (This translates to "old clothes," but don't let the literal translation scare you.). It's a shredded flank steak simmered in Victor's own sherry-spiked Spanish red sauce with green and red peppers, garlic, onions, and sweet green peas. It's served with fried sweet plantains, and it'll make your heart race.
A traditional flan for dessert is the cherry on top of the cake: it's sprinkled with sweet grated coconut.
