Victory 44

- Price range: $$ ($9-$15)
Team Erick Harcey and Ben Hiza, both most recently of Nicollet Island Inn, opened the gastropub (think relaxed bar-type atmosphere combined with high quality food at a reasonable price) on May 1st in the Victory neighborhood. The restaurant, while small, has an open layout with two rooms of low and high topped tables and an outdoor patio.
The menu features dishes that will satisfy the most casual bar lover to the foodie fanatic with bar snacks like Scotch eggs, calamari and The Ploughmans Plate (cheese and charcuterie) to dinners that range from the more casual Reuben sandwich and “The Perfect Burger” offerings to the sirloin and skate wing entrees.
Victory 44 definitely gives a Gastropub vibe (casual, not really a reservation place with beer signs throughout). Their catch phrase on their menu is "Victory never tasted so good," and if they can bring a culinary experience to this North Minneapolis neighborhood, they'll live up to their phrase. Entrees are $8-18 for dinner and lunch is $8-15. They have some salads that are vegetarian friendly, but no entrees or meals that are so. If you are looking for a veggie meal, just ask, the chef are striving for a customized experience with their clients.

"A good choice"

I went to Victory 44 on Saturday with five others. Service was very good, the manager came over and talked to us for a bit, which is always a plus...
