On Fourth Street in Chaska, old meets new. Across the street from the Chaska History Center is El Paisano, a bakery named for the feeling of belonging that country provides, reflecting Chaska’s new community of Hispanic immigrants. The employees don't speak too much English but whether you have a little high school language class under your belt or not, they will know what you want. The smell in the place is intoxicating and, although the merchandise is a little helter-skelter, seeing the men at work with huge slabs of dough in the back makes it all worthwhile.
