Opening with "Welcome to the World of Plastic Beach" featuring Snoop Dogg via video on lead vocals, Gorillaz played their first ever Minnesota concert Sunday night at Target Center.
The virtual band co-created by Blur frontman Damon Albarn and cartoonist Jamie Hewlett showcased the in-person talents of soul legend Bobby Womack, Clash bassist Paul Simonon & guitarist Mick Jones, Bootie Brown of The Pharcyde, Hip Hop trio De La Soul, The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble plus several other singers and musicians performing together songs from Gorillaz' three albums.
Albarn led the band through a mish mash of styles fully taking advantage of the scope of an arena setting.
