Rogue Valley – “False Floors”
The local folk-pop quintet spearheaded by singer/songwriter Chris Koza proved indefatigable in the recording studio between April 2010 and April 2011, churning out an impressive four full-length albums in that year-long span with nary a bum track in sight. They arguably saved the best for last with “False Floors,” the “winter” album in their seasonally-inspired recording cycle. The recording finds the band deftly employing electronic elements in their heretofore primarily pastoral pop and also features the finest song in the entire formidable four album cycle in the form of triumphant orchestral pop anthem “Onward and Over.”
