The best of the best, as chosen by Lucinda Williams, Girl Talk, 3OH!3, OK Go, Bouncing Souls and 35 other touring artists
First, a caveat: 40 artists is a pretty small sample size, so this list of America's top 25 music venues is highly subjective and open to debate. Still, we thought it was interesting to see which clubs, halls, theaters and dive bars came up the most frequently when we asked bands, rappers, singer-songwriters and whatever Girl Talk is to name their favorite places to play and/or see a show around the country.
Each of the venues listed here was selected by a minimum of three artists as among their favorites. (You can also see the complete list of the 200+ venues mentioned by at least one artist, if you're curious.) In the event of a tie, we gave more weight to venues that were singled out by one or more artists as their top pick (we also have a separate gallery of those top picks, too, many of which didn't make the top 25).
