Drawfire Records at the CMJ Festival
At last week's College Music Journal Music Marathon in New York, bands from all over the country made their way to the Big Apple to perform for fans of indie music. Musicians from Minneapolis's local label Draw Fire Records were among those groups that headed out East, with this trip CMJ trip being the first trip for Draw Fire sponsored by the local non-profit organization Future Eating.
After the long biodesiel bus trip to New York, Aviette, Sam Keenan and his band, Stook!, The Glad Version, StarDweller and Bill Mike performed for a party at the Ivy Brown Gallery in the meatpacking district of Manhattan, where the music and beer from Surly matched the art hanging on the walls.
