With only 15 seconds to defuse a bomb, and a name like MacGruber, you’d expect a focused and inventive hero. But in a recurring “Saturday Night Live” sketch, Will Forte’s anti-MacGyver stutters and stumbles as he struggles to keep his focus while the clock ticks down to certain doom.
Now Forte makes his leap into theaters with a bigger, more action-packed and (hopefully) even funnier full length “MacGruber” movie. It’s the most promising big-screen “Saturday Night Live” adaptation in years, but can it help Forte join the ranks of other “SNL”-players turned movie stars?
