Park Ranger Rick Marshall, “Land of the Lost”
There’s a swagger to Will Ferrell that clashes hilariously with his mock immaturity. He represents both the best and worst of the male ego—the guy who acts as if he has all the answers, even as he’s only making things worse. That makes him a perfect fit for the big screen reinvention of “Land of the Lost,” opening June 5. Ferrell stars as park ranger Rick Marshall—an amateur explorer who sets out to find adventure only to be sucked through a space-time vortex into an eon out of his league.
Ever since gaining fame on “Saturday Night Live,” Ferrell has turned the arrogant man-boy act into a steady payday. Take a look back at some of his most memorably outrageous characters.
