I enjoyed the food but found the ambiance seriously lacking. The server/cook was rather scruffy and the staff, including the chef were eating in the dining room between serving patrons.

This place ranks in the top 2% of all restaurants I've dined at - The price is ultra reasonable, the selection is more than enormous and the taste of everything is "Out Of This World" delicious - the staff is super friendly and there at a moments notice to help you in any way they can - all the food is at the temperature it should be at and refilled Always before it runs out - A great place to take the family OR business associates - I've never seen any disruptive activity there, and you can get whatever you want to go by the pound, - 10 Stars

clubcriticmn wrote about G.B. Leighton's Pickle Park

Been there twice. First time had on a hockey Jersey and was not let in because it was not a Minnesota team. That has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard, asked politely to speak with management and was told they were to busy. New years Eve '09(12/31/09) sober cabed a group of twelve and they refused to let in a handicapped male, cause he was wearing sweats, he has a broken pelvic bone, we took him home, he changed into khakis and we returned, this time it was stated to him, that his pants were to baggy, we explained to the doorman about his disability, he stated its the policy of Pickle Park, no sweats or baggy clothes allowed, as we spoke to the doorman another disabled man in a wheelchair came through in sweats, I again asked to speak with MOD the doorman then had a security guard come over and he stated he was the manager and now the whole party must leave, when we pointed out the man in sweats, he said it's my way, now leave, I simply asked for our cover charge back and he became irate at this point a lady with the group was talking to the actual manager Dawn, explaining the confusion brought on by this policy that actually is not enforced for one man but was enforced on another, when Dawn was asked about the refund she simply walked away. Here's the bottom line, no one from the doorman to the manager could solve the issue cause they all had a different view on the clubs policy and to not refund the groups $55 was ridiculous. The group left with no incident. This is the worst managed establishment in Minnesota and they have failed twice now, to get a third chance is unlikely, they where over capacity and obviously they needed our $5 per person to stay in business. If you are disabled this place does not want your business, when asked to change clothes and then to have another issue based on what they told the man to do is bull. The eleven ppl and scores of others will not be back, a public apology to the disabled man is the first thing they need to do, the second thing is to refund the money they so cowardly kept. The final thing to do is to train the staff, on how to deal with people, being disabled and treated like this young man was, even for anyone around the door was very sad to see. This is one establishment I know 100's of patrons that will never, I mean never will be back. I hope this young gentleman who was discriminated against files with the city, state, BBB and the Disabled Americans group, what a sad night for one person. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GB'S PICKLE PARK IS NOT A PLACE TO HAVE FUN

I went there with my family. The people in the bar and outside seemed to be having a good time. Service was really slow. The server messed up our order and the food was not good.

The food was bland and forgettable. The service was attentive. The space is nice but the decor was bland and forgettable, matching the food. Overall unimpressed. There are better places to enjoy good food.

Jennmartin wrote about Gold Nugget Tavern & Grill

Our family has enjoyed brunch after church on Sundays, my husband & I enjoy date night up at the gorgeous spacious bar and our children love a burger after their hockey games! Dinners for us include a tasty turkey burger, fresh wedge salad and lovely conversations with the locals and staff. We have yet to have a bad experience at the Gold Nugget (and don't plan to!). Their amazing fresh menu includes such wide variety of choices, with soup inspirations by Joel, mouth watering desserts and an atmosphere that's conducive for any occasion, whether enjoying the Kentucky Derby or celebrating our son's 13th Birthday! We love the NEW and IMPROVED Gold Nugget and are grateful to the owners/developers of the Glen Lake Area for continuing to persevere to make our neighborhood appealing and forward thinking.

Ike's = perfection. It's the best place to get together with friends in a Rat Pack, New York-ish style eatery. All the food is fab but you cannot go wrong with any of their burgers. I recommend the lobster corndogs, seafood louie salad and the congac alexander (an awesome dessert drink).

My wife and I were amazed by the food and the service, I don't like to write reveiws........all I'll say is my wife and I will be going back, I can't beleive I didn't know of Charlie's beforehand.......I can't stop telling my friends about this place!!! Truly notable beverage menu with hand crafted cocktails featuring artisan liqueurs and house-infused spirits. Try something from their extensive whiskey list (over 40) or the huge wine list. Wines are priced only $15 over cost and many of these wines are less than you can get at a liquor store. Atmosphere is very relaxing and the live music in the pub was a great after dinner treat. Staff is spot on and I can tell they have had some serious training.

I just ate here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I went with a friend who likes sushi (I do not) so we chose it because it had something for both of us. Let me tell you, when I read the reviews on this site, I was very surprised! We had excellent service, great food, and a really nice night! The seared scallop appetizer was to die for, and we split a pizza that was done perfectly. The only downside, to me, was that it was a little noisy (mall crowd, I supposed), and the drinks were a little too pricey. But the ginger pear martinis were delicious, so I'll forgive the price. Overall, I thought it was way better than anything I expected at the MOA. Next time maybe my friend will get to try the sushi :)

I never have a good experience at Seven. There are very few good looking people and the "VIP" staff is horrible, I was just there last week, LAST TIME! Go to a different bar if you have some standards, this place is going down hill....

Hands down, this is the BEST Kmart parking lot. It's got some debris and trash strewn about, sure, but it's got well marked spaces to fit your car and just chill. This is definitely a fantastic place to, errrrrr,....park. Thanks, Metromix, you really have a finger on the pulse on the twin cities!!

We got married in a three-minute ceremony at the Stillwater courthouse (we're into the marriage, not the wedding.) My older daughter offered to babysit my younger daughter so we could go out for dinner. Ingredients served up a cajun-style mussels appetizer that was out of this world delicious. I thought I didn't like mussels because they usually have a rubbery texture and taste fishy. Our appetizer from Ingredients was perfectly cooked, as was my scallops on fennel apple drizzled warm salad. It was as beautiful as it was creative. My new hubby ordered the mozzarella stuffed chicken with garlic mashed potatoes (guess what-he's a meat and potatoes man) and was extremely happy. Our server recommended a superb bottle of chardonnay. Thanks, Ingredients, for an evening we will never forget.

sfleener wrote about Lucia's Restaurant and Wine Bar

The Metromix team sent Amy the intern off in style with a "thank you " lunch at Lucia's. Easily one of the coziest, best balance, soul satisfying lunches we've had. Great seasonal American fare (with some classic bistro twists). We had the cured ham and spinach risotto, the crispy fish cakes and the braised chicken with white bean cassoulet. All the dishes were stunning an cozy - made us all do our own personal "Happy Food" dance. To top things off, we had dessert (gasp! At lunch!) and the flourless almond cake was decadent and silky without being overly rich. All in all, it was fun playing "The Ladies Who Lunch" for a day - we can see why they do it at Lucia's!
