Metromix Street Team: Gastro Non Grata
Explaining the whole idea of Gastro non Grata can be tricky. The music of Eclectone Record's Hojas Rojas kicked things off, then Chris Staples and Aran Madden of Furthermore Beer poured samples and expounded upon the virtues of their small Wisconsin Brewery.
Chef Mike Phillips of The Craftsman Restaurant ground, cased and grilled sausage which was eaten later by the audience. They raffled off a few hunks of meat and then folk-rock sensation Tuesday's Robot took the stage and worked the crowd into a well-meaning mood.
By the time Tuesday's Robot was done, the crowd was eating sausage and drinking more Furthermore beer. They raffled some more meat and then The Wapsipinicon, a new band featuring members of Cloud Cult and Skirt took the stage.
Post-Wapsipinicon, the peeps were drinking and eating some more. Then City Pages "Picked to Click" band Private Dancer took the stage and classic rocked everyone's face off.
To end it, Andrew of Kopplin's Coffee in St. Paul taugh the audience a little bit about coffee and sobered everyone up for the ride home.
