Imagine not being able to eat carbs. We’re talking good carbs—delicious, wheat-laden goodies…pizza, pasta, cookies, all of that! That is a world in which most of us do not want to live. Those with Celiac Disease are forced to live in that world. They are unable to eat wheat-based products without complications. Let’s give those people a break (Celiac's is more common than you'd think!) and take them to Pizza Luce in St. Paul. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, they host a fantastic gluten-free (sans-wheat) menu chock full of everything Pizza Luce is famous for. Some of the best on the menu are: bruschetta, stuffed pasta shells, Caesar salad (with gluten-free dressing), garlic mashed potato pizza, and even a chocolate brownie sundae for dessert! Those are just a very small handful of the gluten-free goodies. To top it off, the general manager and kitchen manager have been certified through the Celiac Awareness Group and the cooks and wait staff are properly trained in avoiding cross-contamination. You’re truly in good hands, and good eats. And don’t worry; you can still enjoy their regular menu on Tuesdays and Wednesdays if you’re looking for some wheat.
