Swing Nights at Famous Dave's

Most people go to Famous Dave’s for a good barbeque meal (maybe a rack of ribs) but on Mondays, people will flock to the Uptown restaurant for a blast from the past.

Starting at 7:15 p.m. every Monday, the guests at Famous Dave’s can feel like they’re straight out of a scene of the movie Grease. The tables are cleared off the floor close to the stage to make room for swing dancers.

Kicking off the week can be tough but putting your dancing shoes after a long day at work can make it a little better. That’s why dance instructors Bill and Shannon give people a 45-minute long lesson on how to swing dance.

After the basics are taught, live bands take the stage and people can show off their skills on the impromptu dance floor.

There’s no fee for the lessons or a cover change for the restaurant.
