The Varsity Theater fills a much needed niche on the local music scene. It’s combination of laid-back classiness (mood lighting, cloth covered tables, posh lounge chairs) and unique size (the sweet spot right in between the tiny 7th St. Entry and cavernous First Avenue) make it the perfect place to capture on-the-rise acts who’ve graduated from the dive bar scene but aren’t yet household names.
