St. Paul’s very own rock ‘n’ roll mecca, the Turf Club’s propensity for booking local music heavy hitters is uncontestable. If there’s a cool new band in town about to play their big CD release show then odds are its going down at the Turf Club, where the only thing equal to the talent on stage is the propensity for chatter by the scenesters in the audience. On any given weekend night one-third of the crowd is connected to the local music scene one way or another (musician, DJ, groupie, you name it). Head on down to the Clown Lounge in the basement if you want a respite from the tunes but still crave cheap pitchers of Grain Belt Premium.
